G-Power BMW X6 Typhoon RS V10: the world’s fastest SUV
German tuner G-Power has created the world’s fastest SUV.
The G-Power BMW X6 Typhoon RS V10 rockets from 0-100km/h in 4.2 seconds and 0-200km/h in 13 seconds on its way to its 330km/h top speed, making it quicker than any SUV before it.
The BMW X6M, on which the Typhoon RS is based, is powered a turbocharged 4.4-litre V8 developing 408kW/680Nm, although G-Power opted to substitute the standard engine for the E60 M5 V10 as the starting point for its super-SUV.
And while the Typhoon’s weight has been reduced to 2230kg (150kg less than the standard model), it’s still a considerable mass that is pulled up by a high-tech brake system that includes 410mm carbon-ceramic discs and six-pot calipers (also 50 per cent lighter than the standard car’s brake system).
Inside is more G-Power customisation designed for the complete super-sport experience. The heavily bolstered racing-style seats are made from ultra-light carbon and there’s a high-end audio system.
Production will be limited to just five units and pricing will start from €675,000 ($865,000)
