Production version arriving in a couple of months

The Honda Crider Concept has been revealed this week at 2013 Auto Shanghai.

 Honda Criden 2

Looking pretty much production-ready, Crider (“Criteria” / “Dreams”) will arrive in showrooms in May or June and will be slotted between Civic and Accord. Production will take place in China as part of the Guangzhou-Honda joint venture which also includes the Accord. Chances are the new model could be exported to several Asian markets but nothing is certain for the moment.

It will compete with other models in this segment such as the Citroen C4L and Volkswagen Sagitar. The vehicle is 4650mm long, 1750mm wide and 1505mm tall. Under the hood is set to receive a 1.8-liter engine connected to a five-speed manual/automatic. Rumors are indicating a 2.0-liter will also be available but it hasn’t been confirmed yet.

In terms of design, we notice a huge chromed front grille, big headlights, equally large taillights and a chrome strip at the back. Like in almost all Chinese cars, wheels look too small as there’s a noticeable amount of wheel arch air gap. You may recall seeing this car last month when a few patent photos of the production-ready Concept C surfaced the web.
